Yes you've got it, my first foray into game dev with Dot Net was the rewrite of
this classic using GDI+, during which I ran into some serious performance issues and hence decided it wasn't worth investigating any further with GDI+. Developping with GDI+ Was however significantly easier than I'm finding with DirectX.
V1.1: Improved physics model, movement is based on thrust and inertia so the results are not quite so
predictable, better piloting skills are needed.
Collision Detection is now at the pixel level, making it easier to escape sticky situations but inversely
harder to hit targets.
